This Labor Day weekend Mechanix Wear is celebrating NASCAR’s return to Darlington Raceway with a limited edition “Mechanix Throwback” decal with every order on www.mechanix.com starting 8/31 (while supplies last). The track “Too Tough to Tame” returns for the Bojangles’ Southern 500 with a throwback theme dedicated to NASCAR’s oldest super speedway. Throughout the week we will be sharing classic NASCAR pit stop footage from Darlington Raceway.

The first Southern 500 in 1950 marked the beginning of a tradition as NASCAR’s original paved superspeedway. The unique 1-1/4 mile egg-shaped oval with narrow turns through corners 3 & 4 - make Darlington a challenging speedway for crews to run consistently at both ends of the track.

"Our history defines us," track president Chip Wile said. "Without history we wouldn't know where we've come from or where we're going. NASCAR legends and loyal fans have all played a role in defining Darlington Raceway. Together, we're celebrating where we came from and where we're going."

This Labor Day weekend, Mechanix Wear’s vintage 1993 decal will be featured on all 29 throwback paint schemes running at Darlington Raceway as we celebrate our past, present and future in the sport.
